The portrait of the family was Monique's greatest challenge. Her love for Renaissance art shows in the figure of the baby, whose body is similar to those in Michelangelo's works. But the woman is contemporary-strong and self-assured. The natural pose of a second child, playing on its father's lap, makes the tapestry full of life. The 4 by 7 foot artwork complements the large, elegant fireplace above which it now hangs.
