The ocean waves are perhaps the most incredible things on our planet.

Holiday beaches turned into burial grounds by the killer waves. The sheer devastation of the tsunami ripped apart humanity, shredding countless lives to pieces, eroding the foundations of society, affecting numerous countries, erasing from reality entire towns and ways of life. Hundreds of thousands of natives perished, washed out into the vastness of Earth's salt waters, never to be seen or heard from again, leaving behind them waves of destruction, suffering and untold sadness. Thousands of tourists also vanished, one day basking in the glow of paradise and the next transported by water to the lands beyond the realm of human understanding.

Please help the tsunami victims, by participating in this exhibit.

Here are few rules for the Tsunami exhibit sponsored by the American Tapestry Alliance.

The exhibit will start as a virtual show.

All accepted artwork will be shown on this website until September and then the work will be auctioned in Pasadena.

Please, send or e-mail the photo of your textile artwork to Monique.

There is no fee to enter the show.

Artists from all nations are eligible to enter.

The artwork should reflect the seriousness of this horrible event.

Each artist can submit one entry. Artists are welcome to join the exhibit at any time till September 1, 2005.

Artists should write the retail value of the artwork and the percent of donation of the proceeds if the work is sold. Monique encourages 50%, 75% or 100% donations to the Red Cross Tsunami aid, but artists may choose to donate to a different charity involved in tsunami relief.

Monique will not be involved in sales but will forward the e-mails of the artists to the potential buyers.

Monique will inform textile magazines and the media about this show and will pay for the website.

"One reason I'm proud to be associated with artists is that artists are often the most open and giving people I know. One can't always afford to give everything they are asked to give-- but thank goodness we are all free to say no as well as yes." Pat Williams
